LEXAR ADDS INNOVATIVE STORAGE CAPACITY METER WITH ELECTRONIC PAPER DISPLAY FROM E INK

Lexar plans to add a unique storage capacity meter to its popular USB flash drives by integrating an innovative electronic paper display from E Ink Corporation.

The E Ink display is a paper-thin, shatter proof, easy to read meter that does not rely on power to show the capacity information when disconnected from the computer.

On display at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Lexar JumpDrive® Mercury will be the first USB flash drive to feature the on-board non-volatile smart capacity meter that will let customers easily monitor their available storage capacity.

KODAK AND LEXAR INTRODUCE HIGH-PERFORMANCE MEMORY CARDS

Lexar has introduced KODAK High Performance memory cards designed for digital camera owners who require high-speed processing for rapid-fire still shooting, high frame rate video capture, and fast computer transfer.

Initially available in SD (Secure Digital) format, KODAK High Performance flash memory cards, offered by Lexar, are ideal for users of all SD format digital cameras with both still and video capture capabilities.

LEXAR INTRODUCES POWERTOGO™ - A PORTABLE WORKING ENVIRONMENT TO INCREASE MOBILITY FOR ITS USB FLASH DRIVE LINE

Lexar plans to incorporate PowerToGo™ into its line of JumpDrive® products, creating a portable working environment for its USB flash drive customers.

PowerToGo will enable users to install and run most standard Windows applications from their Lexar JumpDrive. Using a customized solution provided by Ceedo Technologies Ltd., PowerToGo is being developed with an open standard.

Lexar’s Smart USB flash drive technology will be compatible with most consumer and electronic mobile devices as well as corporate computing environments.

LEXAR ADDS COREL CORPORATION’S DIGITAL IMAGING SOFTWARE TO LINE OF FLASH MEMORY CARDS

Lexar is adding further value to its widely popular lines of flash memory products by including digital imaging software from Corel Corporation – valued at $30 to $100 per application – to select flash memory cards in Lexar’s Professional, Platinum and Value lines.

The included software programs are Corel® Paint Shop Pro® 9, Corel® Photo Album™ 6 (Standard Edition) and Corel® Photo Album™ 6 (Starter Edition) – all designed to help photographers of all levels enhance, edit and manage their images.

Corel’s Paint Shop Family software will be packaged with Lexar’s CompactFlashÔ, Secure DigitalÔ (SD) and Memory StickÔ format flash memory cards within each product family.

Paint Shop Pro 9 will be included with all Lexar Professional flash memory cards, while Paint Shop Photo Album 6 (Standard Edition) will be included with all Platinum flash memory cards.

Customers purchasing cards from Lexar’s Value line will receive Paint Shop Photo Album 6 (Starter Edition).

LEXAR INCREASES PERFORMANCE OF PLATINUM MEMORY CARD LINE

Lexar’s new Platinum II memory cards provide photographers with performance levels capable of sustained rapid-fire shooting and full motion video, two of the most popular and sought after features in digital cameras.

The Platinum II CompactFlash memory card is speed-rated at 80X, capable of a minimum sustained write speed of 12MBs per second, while the Platinum II Secure Digital (SD) memory card is speed-rated at 60X, capable of a minimum sustained write speed of 9MBs per second.

The Platinum II line also includes popular Memory Stick Pro and Memory Stick Pro Duo flash memory cards.

The new JumpDrive Firefly offers a very small and convenient solution for storing, transferring and sharing multimedia and more. One of the smallest JumpDrives available, JumpDrive Firefly will be available in 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities.

In addition, Lexar’s award-winning premium JumpDrive Lightning will feature increased performance of 150x write speed and will be available in a new 4GB version.

Capcity of the JumpDrive TouchGuard, with biometric fingerprint sensors to authenticate a user’s identity, will increase to 1GB.
